">Correlational studies, also known as ecologic studies, are applied to study population characteristics or aggregate characteristics. These studies cannot present associations. Fopartscs of people, such as mortality, age, density, and natality, determine numerical rates. The rates are compared to the same groups at separate times or different groups at the same time. Correlational studies cannot link events with the individuals exposed because the studies are based on populations rather than individuals. These studies help recognize seasonal patterns, event-related clusters, and long-term trends (Vitale & Curley, 2020).
The research pyramid is an easy way to understand what type of evidence is more vital than others. The top of the pyramid is the moscriticalal type of evidence, also known as filtered evidence, consisting of critical appraisals, meta-analyses, and systemic reviews. The pyramid’s basso, known as unfiltered evidence, consists of RCT, case reports, and cohort studies. The filtered evidence evaluates the literature, while the unfiltered evidence is the primary literature. The higher the method is on the pyramid, the higher the evidence quality. The cohort study is between the RCTs and the case-controlled studies on the pyramid (Stimson Library, 2021).
